About Proactive Acne Price in Answers
proactive, ?? acne.? I live in canada. &I have Ance its not that bad but i dont like going out with it.. its very embarrsing.. the tooth paste isn't really working. I have also tried solu Gel.. And that bearly works. So about a week ago I order Proactive but sence i live in canada the guy said it could take 3-4 weeks to get here. I wanna enjoy the rest of my summer so i was thinking about buying "acnefree" i guess its like proactive but 1/4 the price.. should i do that? also i hear proactive only works for a while than it stops working but than i hear it works wonders?

chelsea_betty replied: "Yeah, don't buy Proactive,i've heard horror stories about it,my friend used it and not only did it not work, even started to make her skin peel and flake. As for Acnefree,I haven't heard anything bad about it so I guess it's safe."

Mimi C replied: "Proactive does work wonders and the only reason it stops working is because you body gets used to the chemicals. As long a you take care of your skin after it stops working you should be fine. You should wait for Proactive because if Acnefree is the same as Proactive then by the time Proactive comes, your skin will be used to all the chemicals in both of them."

Sarah replied: "I actually never had bad acne but started using Proactiv after I borrowed it once from one of my roommates. I love the way my skin looks since starting to use it. It's just a great product. Be patient and wait for the shipment to arrive. Or, you could try looking at some nearby malls. I have seen Proactiv being sold at those kiosks in the hallways at malls before. Usually you only pay a few dollars more, if that. Good luck!"

Rose D replied: "It worked wonders for my sisters face, she is going through puberty and she had really bad acne. I had a couple of zits that won't go away and I used it and it worked for me. I would try to use acnefree I've heard that is is just as good as proactive."

Angel Eyes replied: "I didn't have bad acne but would get pimples every month and used Pro-Activ and it worked wonders. I know many women who all proclaim the same thing. I also know a women who used the generic version and the name brand and she claimed they were equal but one was cheaper. I no longer use it but don't get break outs anymore either, I'm not sure why that is. I def. recommend getting wither one of them."

denise i replied: "Proactive doesn't work! The lotion only has a 2.5% of benzoyl peroxide. You should buy Clearasil Ultra which has 10% and it removes everythingggg fantastically."

Andy replied: "whatever you do don't buy proactive, i tried it and it made it 100 times worse, but i found that if you go swimming often the clorine helps really good, it cleared half my face"

fluffee replied: "Read tips on Treating Acne, Skincare and Home Remedies on this site"

FatherOfCivilization replied: "change your diet..eat more fruits and veg's ...and drink lots of water..watch the difference in 3-4 weeks..."

Burgess replied: "Well results vary. Its may work for some, and not for all.If you have oil skin i recommend you try Acnefree if you have combination skin you should try products with Salysilic acid.Because BP tend to dry your skin too much."

soursop22 replied: "I break out more often like daily, with adult acne, I am a believer in systems like proactiv and acnefree. I tried acnefree, b/c lower price and no shipping, it worked pretty good to me, but I wanted more so I tried neutrogena advanced solution system, which contains not only uses Benzyl but also Salylic Acid. I noticed a different in two days. i love it, and though the bottles are small, i dont' need to use alot of it, so I won't run and as for the guys who says it fruit and that bull piss, acne is hormonal and genetic. I drink water and fruits every day before i tried the systems and i still broke out. there is not cure for acne yet, just managing them through proven methods."

iknoweverything replied: "Supposedly benzoyl peroxide is the only antibacterial your skin does NOT get used to and this is the active ingredient in Proactiv. I have been using it for a few months and my face has never been more clear. It has seriously worked wonders on my skin--I used to get those really deep, painful, cyst-like pimples and I haven't seen one since I started on it. It is possible to have an allergic reaction and your face will probably be dry for a while, but that's true with most topical acne medications. You can use a sensitive-skin moisturizer on top of the Repairing Lotion if your skin gets really dry, or only do the Repairing Lotion once a day or every other day."

Katie replied: "um talk to your dermo about maby taking a pill like acutain, but only if it is really bad, and try acne free, it is kinda like proactive but cheaper, but you have to give the meds time like a few months to kick in, o and dnt keep switchin for cream to cream or wash to wash that just makes it worse, o and change you pillow case every 3 nights, when you hair gets on the pillow it leaves oils that get on your face which make you break out good luck"

Proactive Solution or Acjuva For Acne? I'm deciding between proactive 3 step acne solution and Acjuva. I've heard more about Proactive but Acjuva is the "chemical-free" alternative with the same steps as proactive, same price... but you get double the size bottles. So it seems like the better value. >
Sarah M replied: "It works better too, and I'll tell you why. Jessica Simpson and P. Diddy can't cover up a lousy and cheap formulation that is Proactiv. Don't buy into the hype. PROACTIV SUCKS! I've been using Acjuva for 2 years to keep my acne 100% at bay. It's foaming Step 2 is WAY easier to use, and the step 3 lotion won't dry out your skin. With all natural ingredients you can sleep well at night knowing you won't get cancer or some ape skin disease which could come from any number of Proactiv ingredients."

J-Dawg replied: "Definitely not Proactiv. This stuff burned my face. Plus, it was a hassle to get off that annoying autoship program. I've been using Acjuva for a two weeks and I really like it- especially the lotion. I'm already almost acne free."

supersized_bethy replied: "Proactiv is Junk. It burned my skin. I have been taking acjuva's 3 step kit and it is the best acne treatment i have used. AcneFree? Proactiv? Forget about them. Retin-A and Accutane were too harsh. Acjuva was easy to use and contains no harsh chemicals. I found tons of positive and a few negative reviews at, but most of the acjuva users experienced a positive change. So I tried it. It is the best!"

Proactive Price check ? how much is the Proactive 3 step solution, in canada ? i live in alberta, and i have light acne, and just want to know the price for the proactive ? thanks

peachtool replied: "I don't know about Canada, but I pay $69 every three months for the 3 step treatment. I live in MN, USA."

Is the book Acne Free in 3 Days worth the price? I need a cure for my acne now! I have tried many products. The two I haven't are this book and ProActive. Does either one work? Or does anyone know of a remedy that will cure acne?

Has anyone tried Proactiv? Does it actually work? Has anyone tried other good products against acne? I saw this commercial of Proactiv today, and I was wondering if anyone has tried proactiv. I have acne, its not severe acne, but I want to have a clean face, so can proactiv help me cure acne? Anyone knows in which store I can find proactive? Whats its price? What are other creams, scrubs, lotions , etc. that are good to prevent and stop acne? What's their price and where can I get them? (Nothing to expensive, $60 or less). I have slightly oily skin. I'M MALE, 16.

Ruth K replied: "I have never tried Proactiv, but I think it's mainly for people with severe acne (or very rich celebrities who can afford to pay $60, or more, a month...) I'm sure it does work, but I keep my face clean - I wash it twice a day, with hot water to open the pores, some kind of cleaning lotion (something from Walmart normally does the trick) and I finish with cold water. That's all the advice I can give you really. Also try to drink plenty of water, it really does help."

NoID replied: "first of all, you cant "cure" acne. Just prevent it (for the most part). I know some people who've tried it, and it works for them... I tried it, and it didn't work. You skin could just be dry (it may seem oily, but thats because your body is creating the oily to prevent the dry) so just start putting on a daily face lotion... if thats the case, you face will start clearing up in a month or so"

Xani replied: "it works on some people"

Chowder replied: "it works on most people but not all"

geminitaurus replied: "Try it. If it doesn't help, you might need prescription meds from your dermatologist. You can't buy it in a store, only online or telephone. I think it is about $40 a month."

Jack B replied: "differin works on zits that you already have, and to prevent them, any face wash should work. just use hot water, then apply, hot water again to rinse, and cold water afterward. also, avoid eating to much oily food."

HH replied: "I tried Proactiv and it worked at first. But after awhile, even though I was faithful in keeping it up, it seemed to stop working. The best thing you can do is to go to a dermatologist. Depending on who you go to, it could be pricey-but try talking to your parents because it really is worth it."

Tom M replied: "I am currently on Proactiv...I didn't have very severe acne, but enough to bother me to do something about it. It works great and is well worth the money. The price is around $30-$40 for a 60-day supply. As for other creams, scrubs, lotions, I haven't had any luck with really anything, including Acne pads, and spot-treatment (like in a tube)"

missy replied: "I was like you and I tried Proactive. And it detroyed my skin. Now I can't get rid of the acne and it is 10 times worse. I was so upset and then I couldn't get my money back because I had thrown out the package the stuff came in. I'm sure it is just your age and Noxema or something cheap will do just as well as anything else. Proactive is not worth the money in my opinion, but it may work for you. Who knows, but I will never touch it again."

acne? -proactive? I don't care about the price, i no it's a bit "pricey" but that don't matter, i just want a clear face.. and soft skin.. i was thinking about proactive? I just wanted to knoe any reviews? pros and cons on it? .. and things that ppl might do so it ends up not working?

P i N k Y 0x replied: "Proactiv does work, but you have to use it both day and night to see effective results. Also, if you stop using it, your pimples will start to reappear again which is really annoying. You actually have to wait about six weeks to get a fully clear face! I was satisfied with everything else though! Good luck!"

Leigh replied: "Proactive didn't work for me at all. I tried it for several months and all it did was make everything worse. I started using nutrigena and it worked great. I now have clear skin. Good luck, and i know what a pain ance can be so i hope it works for you =]"

5wks2go replied: "I tried it and it was very, very drying. There's a three part system that's very similar and doesn't seem to be as drying to the face. It's called ACNE FREE and you can get it at any drug store. It worked great for me. Something else I tried that worked as long as I didn't use it too much (again, very drying) was IVORY soap. The plain, regular white bar...it's pure soap and it helped me. Good luck, I know how hard it is to walk around with acne on your face."

Cutiepie replied: "Proactive is great, it did wonders for my face! It got bad and in swimteam all year long I can't hide it with makeup, it went away, and it does work! You have to be like determined to use it! I was, and it went away! good luck, and I hope I helped!"

Airline Confused replied: "Hello, I used to use proactive for 4 months. It does not work on certain individuals. My skin breaks out more a week after using proactive. I then went to a dermatologist then he prescribed me magic-lifesaving medicine to make all of my acne go away Now, my skin is acne-free and it is great. Do not try buying stuff that you are not too sure whether you might have like allergic reactions or what have you. Duac, tazorac, differin actually works fast and great for acne skinned. Hope this help."

Emily M replied: "Proactive works great but to have clean beautiful smooth skin follow these directions. 1.first use the proactive cleanser. 2.then wash your face with the proactive face wash. 3.now you use the proactive clarifying lotion. 4.now that you are finished with that its time for the next step now put tooth paste on the the pimples or acne. 5.leave the tooth paste on over night and repeat this until you see a difference with should be with in 5-7 days. good luck with your beautiful and smooth skin!!:)"

Laser acne removal...opinions /price? Hi ive had acne for lets see 7 years of hell now I had horrible acne 2 years ago until my friend foced me to used proactive it erased old acne but any newer acne wouldnt go away so i used benz 10 so now my face is kind of okay but nothings working... like at all anymore . i dont really get zits i get cysts and thier huge (and gross) i have tons and tons of scars and these weird little dents ive used hydrocortizone for a year now it just made the scars slightly less noticeable ...anyways i just wanted to know if anyone knows anything about how i can get the constant cysts scars and dent things to completly go away because its seriosly something to cry over.

melissa91762 replied: "I had acne for just about as long as you have. It was not really bad, but at all times I always had pimple on my face. It wasn't a lot, but it was always there. Anyways, my friend told me about accutane & I swear it was a miracle. It was pretty strong stuff, but it was the only thing that got rid of my pimples. I have never had a pimple like it did before. From time to time I will get a little pimple, but nothing like before. As far as scarring. I still have some minor scars on my cheeks. I had 3 laser treatments but could not afford to continue the treatment. It is hard to say if I had a big improvement because we seem to be more critical on ourselves. I am considering going back because I would really like to get rid of the scars I do have left over. Hope this helps. Good luck."

Proactive or exposed acne treatment? ok so ive acne on my forehead, cheeks,, n lots on my chin area!! i tried consulting a doctor but the treatment was just too expensive n showed very little results so now im considering trying proactive ..but when i started searching the product.. i found out about this new product-- exposed acne treatment.. so now im confused.. which 1 should i buy?? what do u prefer?? Please also consider the price.. if theres any other product that u mite want me 2 consider..pls let me know>>> thnx 4 ur help :D

letmeowt replied: "i know you wont try what i say no does but its the best thing . if it was 20 dollars you would try it . sorry its so inexpensive i know you wont try it because of that and what will you8r friends think but rubbing alcohol does best . dont try it its not expesive enough ok?"

Susie D replied: "Acne is an autonomic neuropathy - the cause of most common health problems. An autonomic neuroapthy begins with a weak autonomic neuron that is easily stimulated even by trace amounts of strong stimulants. Poisons are some of the strongest stimulants. This would explain why I've seen acne clear up dramatically by avoiding non-organic milk / dairy products, and non-organic wheat. Why only wheat and dairy I don't know. Dairy was by far the worst trigger. It may have something to do with bovine hormones in the cows milk. Bovine hormones stimulate a cow's autonomic neurons to stimulate the growth of more udder cells to increase the cow's milk producing cycle, which probably also involves changing the cows hormones. If it changes human hormones too, then acne could result. Assuming that insecticides used on corps are a factor, as they seem to be because organic milk and wheat were not a problem, my best guess is that certain crops are treated with specific insecticides. Which would lead me to conclude that those insecticides tend to stimulate neurons that in turn change hormone levels or increase oil secretions in the skin, at least in some people. Milk and its derivatives are in just about all processed foods. Thus a whole food organic diet is a good treatment. The improvement I saw was lasting. Unfortunately, this person now needs to take drugs for a serious health problem and the drug contains non-organic lactose (from milk) as a drug filler, and the acne came back as soon as she started the medicine. Imagine, drugs contain pesticides. How irresponsible is that? Pesticides affect the nervous system whether we know it or not. Drs have all kinds of explanations for acne, but they aren't the cause. Weak (frail or injured) neurons are the vulnerability and poisons are the cause. Neurons can be genetically weak, and it's weak neurons that are most sensitive to even trace amounts of insect killers in food. Here is the whole food diet. Whole food organic diet - use all organic ingredients Fresh fruit and vegetables. Eat a banana or drink organic O.J. every day for potassium for nervous system health. Whole milk only. Eggs. Butter (salted only). Orange juice (no calcium citrate or lactate). Spring water for drinking / cooking / diluting whole milk - if desired. Popcorn (unflavored, but add butter after it's popped). Unbleached wheat flour (occasionally for waffles). Olive oil (use for salad dressing with salt). Pickling salt (or salt with no additives). Agave nectar sweetener (like pancake syrup). NOW brand calcium carbonate powdered - sold on Amazon or in health food stores - a calcium supp that's from mineral thus organic. It's tasteless and can be added to any drink. Can have canned small fish fillets in spring water. Dried peas or beans for soup. Organic meat, ocean caught fish, or organic hot dogs - will not be fully organic. Add more organic foods as time goes on, but watch out for organic processed foods. Most are never fully organic. To date, they are not required to be. Nature's Path makes a corn flake that is just corn and fruit juice, but even corn meal is soaked in water before processing, and the water is not spring water. But it can't hurt to try a product. Organic milk may soon be offered in school lunch rooms. We can only hope. Use only Aleve (non-gelcaps) for pain. They are easy on the nervous system and don't contain milk, corn, wheat or gelatin - all of which are non-organic drug fillers. Probably why Aleve works better than other pain relievers. Everything else contains insect and weed killer and or bovine hormones. You might consider having blood work done to see if you have appropriate balance in hormones. An imbalance is a neuropathy too and easily a side effect from pesticide ingestion. That's not what Drs will say. They'll say the reason is unknown - because studies are only done on people who eat non-organic food. They should know better, if they've had biology, or even seventh grade life science. Good luck what ever you try. I hope it works out well for you."

huy replied: "There is this new popular cream that people have been talking about. It was even televised on TV. It prevents future and existing acne, diminishes scars, and lightens skin and blemishes. Fast results too! (It has been claimed that major results can be seen within a week and no later than two weeks) Before and After photos are available at the given ebay site. This person is providing 1-3 week trial samples (Only for ONE DOLLAR.. definitely a deal) on ebay at: Search up "best acne solution ever" on ebay. First 100 customers can get the item for $1 for one week trial and up to 3 weeks. Or you can buy the whole container for $160 It's expensive, but the product DOES work. My sister and cousin who both have major acne have tried the product and they both give it thumbs up. I have also heard many great feedbacks about this cream. I don't have a problem with acne, but it seems to have great results on my sister who has moderate to severe acne. Her acne swelling went away overnight. I hope this helps. =)"

Should I get proactive or acne-free? I don't care about prices i just want to know which one works better. Also, if you stop using them will you break out? even if you've used it for a long time? So you have to use them forever and ever?

princess_hannah059 replied: "Acne Free, I use it and it works the same as ProActive and it's cheaper. And no you don't have to use them forever, just in your teenage years when you'll probably break out a lot. After that, you probably won't break out that much anymore so it won't really be a problem."

beachbabe00123 replied: "wow this is the perfect question 4 me to answer, i use proactive and it woks like magic no lie, u should use it 2 times a day 4 like the first 2 months and then after that i use it once every day sometimes every 2 days and i have nice smooth clear skin i love it!!"

malikfouze replied: "dont buy any drink water nd dont use soap oooo and rarly use a clenser like if u go out. it worked fo me"

hottie dancer babe replied: "proactive but actually differin works well to"

johnnydeppluvaa replied: "Proactive for sure. Not only does it work, but it works fast!!!! It is also the laeding acne medication in America. If you wanna see clearer skin fast, get proactive."

san_ann68 replied: "acne free, you dont have to wait for it to be delivered"

Sara replied: "I'm 26 and still have problematic skin. I starting using Proactiv and it cleared up my skin. I have no experience with acne-free, so I can't tell which is better. I'm sure it depends on the person..."

junkme replied: "I've used ProActiv for a few months, and it didn't work at all. I ended up having more breakouts and none of my existing ones were cured at all. It's also too pricey to stick to it, I'm not sure about the breaking out when you stop using, but I've heard people complaning about that though. If you're suffering from acne and has not recovered despite trying several off-the-counter products, I STRONGLY suggest you to visit your nearest dermatologist. Only he/she can help you. Don't waste your money investing on those products because it just won't cure it, it can only improve skin that has been cured from acne."

fabulousjoshie05 replied: "I Say Use Clinique's Acne Solutions it's salicylic acid is coated differently than most treatments. It is formulated so It won't dry the skin out. The 2 products I would get is Acne Foam and Emergency Gel. Emergency Gel has 5% Benzoyl Peroxide where as proactive just has 2%. If it is serious just day time and night time gel. But as far as using something forever once the acne is treated I would use Clinique's 3-Step system. It's just a good cleansing system which prevents further breakout and keeps skin looking and feeling great!"

Tara T replied: "If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point. For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all. Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck. Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:"

What is the best acne treatment? The price doesnt matter.? Do not tell me epiclear or proactive because i already used those before. Thank you.

Berky replied: "acnezine!!! nothing you put on your skin will get rid of acne. it may help with existing belimishes but they will keep coming. acnezine is a herbal supplement that basically detoxes your liver and creates healthy skin. check out the website for more info. a healthy balanced diet and plenty of water is also essentail to clear skin... your skin may get worse at first as your body gets rid of built of toxins then after a month or so it should start clearing. you dont have to use this product for the rest of your life either!! check it out!"

IAN replied: "acutane you need a perscription, its sort of a last ditch effort after they try antibiotics but it really really works. Also try taking zinc"

Madelinetjai replied: "To get rid of acne. Try a gentle cleanser. One that is glycerin or sorbitol based will be good and it does not need to be expensive. Cetaphil and Neutrogena has some pretty good ones. Try Cetaphil® Gentle Skin Cleanser. Proactiv works for some people it clears up for a while but acne may come back. It is also very harsh on your skin and may dry it all up, definitely not for people with sensitive skin. My friend said it corroded and bleached her metal sink so if it can do that to the sink, think of what it is doing to your face. So Proactiv is a no no. Wash your face at least twice a day and everytime after you perspire. If your skin is the oily kind, you do not need to apply any moisturizer, your skin oils are enough to keep it hydrated. If you really must apply a gentle light oil free one. Cetaphil® Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 15 or Cetaphil® Moisturizing Lotion is quite good Apply pimple cream to the acne area. Try benzoyl peroxide low strength(2.5%) first. You can try oxy, panoxyl or Neutrogena brands. Don't pick poke scrub or pop your pimples unless you want scars which are really ugly. Scrubbing cleansers or washes are also no-nos because it equals picking and poking and makes acne worse Treated pimples gently. Eat healthy. Make sure you drink plenty of water. Cut down on sugar and carb intake. Foods like chocolates, coffee, soda drinks, bread, rice potatoes or anything starchy and sugary are no-nos. Cut down on oily and fried foods also. Go for grilled, steamed or baked food. Make sure you eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Ensure that your diet is rich in vitamin A, C, E and Omega-3 which are important for the skin. Less stress and sleeping enough is also important. Not having enough sleep is like putting stress on your body. Makes sure you sleep at least 8 hours a day. If you are a smoker. Try to quit. Smoking causes a lot of damage to your skin because it introduces toxins to it. These toxins can clog the pores or make the skin harder to breathe and that’s when the acne bacteria set in. The toxins also cause longer healing of the acne as well as the marks and scars left behind by acne. If all else fails and your acne is still very bad, it is time to see a dermatologist. The pills and medications do work but you may have to take them long term to suppress the acne as it is not a cure and acne is a chronic disease. However the pills are not miracles and you won’t see results in 2-3 days. It normally takes about 2 weeks to see the difference. However not all dermatologists prescribe pills unless your acne is really bad. The pills will include antibiotics, accutane and contraceptives. If your acne isn’t that bad, dermatologists will prescribe topical creams first. If you are really going to a dermatologist, I suggest asking about a product known as Retin-A that treats acne and acne marks and heals the scars."

Amy replied: "I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth! Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work: 1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem. 2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem. I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn’t use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured…if we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don’t want us to know. There is a great website: that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me."

tomorjerry replied: "You can try these simple remedies to get rid of acne. Soak cotton wool in mint juice, and apply every day. Mix cinnamon powder with lime juice to make a fine paste, Apply on pimples. Check out for more useful info."

nisha m replied: "Application of the milky juice of unripe papaya, will remove pimples. More home remedies available at"
