Use Of Cipralex in Answers
its been 22 days since i use cipralex but i dont feel any different? yeah i dont feel any single bit different except delayed ejacuation. nothing about my mood has changed. when should it suppose to kick in to my mood?

Scott in LHC replied: "Hello from a fellow Lexapro/Cipralex user. It took me a couple of weeks to notice even small changes, but in about a month I suddenly realized things seemed better. However, everyone is different, and things like dosage, physical condition, mental issues, diet and other medicines can affect the way drugs work on you. To quote one site, "In clinical studies, many patients treated with Lexapro began to feel better within 1 to 2 weeks, although the full effect may take 4 to 6 weeks." You've mentioned delayed ejaculation, but I've noticed other side effects, such as Insomnia, dry mouth and diarrhea. I've had to take Trazodone (100mg x 2) every night just to get some sleep, but I'm still satisfied enough with the Lexapro to stick with it. If any of these become a problem, there are a host of other SSRI meds your doctor can prescribe. However, almost every drug has some side effects, so it may take you some time to find the right fit for you. Hope this helps. :)"

Does anyone use cipralex? If so how does it work for you? Cipralex is an anti-depressant and used by people with social anxiety or general anxiety.

Rosey M replied: "Yeah I used it for awhile but it didn't do me any good, but saying that everybody is different and it might work for some but not others.I don't take anything for my anxiety now, apart from therapy.xx."

Can we use Solian and Efoxor together?A relative of mine has bipolar disorder. She was given seroquel&cipralex? and later efoxor instead of cipralex. It has been almost two months and she is better. But when she had similar behaviours years ago she was given only Solian and got well very quickly.I wonder if we can use it instead of seroquel which she takes before going to bed? Thank you.

melanie replied: "Solian works on different chemicals/receptors in the brain so in that it would work just fine with Effexor and is used sometimes with other antidepressants(not in the US but whatever)...you are just going to have to start it slow together since both effexor and solian can have effects on the heart and blood pressure...so its possible and very doable i would just make sure to take it slow adding one to the other and getting your blood pressure checked often..."

cipralex...................................? as cipralex puts weight on people who take this do they eat more or is it the actual tablet that makes you put the weight on

Kitt replied: "Its a bit of both, it confuses the body, by making you feel more hungry you naturally put weight on because your eating more, but if you ignore the hunger your body will start storing fat reserves because it thinks its starving and so you store more fat to use later. The way to combat it is to drink more, and have plenty of snack foods nearby that are healthy like fruit and cereal bars or breakfast cereal. Easy to eat and minimal preparation as your going to want to eat right away. Have plenty more water as hydration is important and your body easily confuses thirst with hunger. The other thing to bear in mind is although its a common side effect to put weight on, but it also can cause you to lose weight as well. Not everybody will get the side effect and you may even end up having no weight changes at all. If your concerned about weight changes then doing a health and nutrition plan with your doctor to monitor any changes may help you to stay on top of your health."

K replied: "most medications that alter neurochemistry have affect the pituatary gland which in turn affects everything more or less. The chemistry alterations are quite complex with any SSRI/SSNI but usually weight gain will because there has been slight a knock on effect on metabolism and glucose synthesis/fat storage/oestrogen balance. It all depends on the individuals biochemistry of course. A healthy, cleansed liver will help glucose/fat synthesis retain some balance. If you are putting on weight try and reprogramme your brain- to stoamch hunger signals. Try the Paul McKenna, it works for definite even GPs are recommending it but it would be interesting to see if it works on people who are taking medication "

tears for nz replied: "try change your anti-depressant, i had a major stomach bleed two months ago, I needed 4 blood transfusions, the cause ... Cipralex causes bleeding, read instructions ok and change the medication asap."

Any one here ever Use Cipralex ? does it work ? and how long did it take you to benefit?

Jen H replied: "I was on it for about 6 months at maximum dose and it didn't work for me at all. But my brother was on it and it worked really well for him. Generally with any antidepressant it takes up to 6-8 weeks before you will notice any real benefit."

Doug Black replied: "How it works on different people can vary so much, what works for one doesnt for the other, side effects can be had by some people and others by others. As with any antidepressant they all do the same thing, its just how they are made and how they do it that differ slightly. The best bet is to give it a good chance to work, take it properly for a good few weeks, if you dont feel it is working report to your doctor and see about changing dose or type of antidepressant. Once you find a good one that suits you try to stick with it, how long it takes to work, well this can vary as well, but the standard 2-4 weeks is a good indication, but you have to take it properly! With Cipralex (Citalopram hydrobromide), its used under a few different brand names all quite well known, and for an antidepressant to get the notariety, it has to be reasonably effective in most, but as said this is no indication in itself. Trial and error is the only way to find if it works. Hopefully for you it will work great. But dont be worried about changing if it doesnt! Any more specific medical questions about the drug you can talk to a pharmacist in any chemit about, they are qualified to give advice, and probably a bit easier to go se than arranging a doctors appointment."

Whats the difference between Paxil and Cipralex? My husband has been taking Paxil for the past 7 years now and still has problems dealing with everyday life. He has severe mood swings, letting the littlest things bother him. I have been told that Cipralex is supposed to be better then Paxil? These mood swings have been very difficult with our marriage and i don't want to give up on him but i'm not sure how much longer i can take these mood swings.

jessiekatsoupolous replied: "Don't ask here, moron, ask a REAL doctor!!!!!"

brunetteqt5135 replied: "I would have the your husband go to the doctor and get checked and try different medication you got to keep trying different medication until you find the right one"

Can Cipralex effect a decrease of sexual affection? I've been on Cipralex for about three months now and I have almost completely lost the normal sexual arousal that I used to have before. Is it normal?

jessicatie2008 replied: "yes alot of meds can effect sex drive, sad enough it is a crappy effect, some are worse than others but it depends on your what you are taking them for if it out weighs the problem, but most people find that once they have taken them for a while the side effects subside"

pharmacymom replied: "Yes, most antidepressants will kill your sex drive. If you tell your doctor (and don't be embarrassed, it is such a common side effect!) he/she can prescribe something to help you or another antidepressant that is less likely to cause this."

How long does cipralex stay in your system? I have been taking cipralex now for approx 8 months and have just decided to have another baby we want to start trying straight away i have decided i dont want to take Cipralex anymore and have been weaning myself off them i want to know how long does it stay in system and will it effect preg or our attempts to try and conceive

Chick replied: "My doc told me that anti-d's take as long to loose effect as it does to get an effect so 6 weeks to 12 weeks approx. Make sure you see your doc to get off them as if you don't do it properly it can make matters worse."

Difference between fluoxetine hydrocholoride and cipralex escitaloram? My doctor has changed my prescription from Fluoxetine Hydrochlorde to Cipralex Escitaloram. What is the difference between each other? Which one am I better off taking? What does the one medication does, what the other doesn't and visa versa?

dropping bombs on your mom replied: "fluoxetine is prozac and cipralex is celexa. they are both ssri's. they are both used for depression. it depends on why you are taking it. you can research them on they do about the same thing but have different side effects on different people. talk to your doctor too!"

Emily J replied: "Fluoxetine Hydrochloride is the generic for Prozac. Escitalopram Hydrochloride is the generic for Lexapro. They both belong to the same category of medication - SSRIs (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor). It's hard to say which you would be better off taking because everybody is different. No one can predict which will work better for you. Do you know why he changed your prescription? Prozac typically has more side effects (jitteriness, insomnia, sexual side effects) and it was the first SSRI on the market. Lexapro (escitalopram) is chemically related to Celexa (citalopram), which is another SSRI. Lexapro has fewer side effects. I'm wondering if you had told the doc that you were having side effects? Or if your depression returned, prompting a change in medication? The good news is that both come in the generic form and are cheap as hell. Also, a "change of scenery" can sometimes be a good thing, even for our brains! Call your doctor and ask those questions. The doc may have a specific reason for switching you - all anyone on here can do is speculate. Good luck!"

Are there any symptoms that come with stopping Cipralex? I've been taking the lowest dose of Cipralex for anxiety, and for circumstances beyond my control, I haven't had any in about 5 days. Do any side effects generally appear when you first come off SSRIs? I had an episode of feeling jittery yesterday and have had inexplicable dizziness today. I'm just wondering if these can be contributed to stopping the pills. If it makes any difference, neither of these symptoms are common to my anxiety attacks.

sheloves_dablues replied: "These are both related to stopping the drug. Cipralex is classed as an anti-depressant. And yes, it is common to have side effects when quitting any anti-depressant."
