Aspirin and ibuprofen don't mix, so it wouldn't get along with the Motrin, and if you took it with the Tylenol, you'd be overdosing on acetaminophen. So just leave out the Excedrin, and you'll be fine taking the other two together."

Serious question about tylenol and excedrin? My boyfriend is in some pain so he was taking excedrin to relieve the pain. He would take 4 every four hours. I know it's a lot, but he's an ex-pill popper so taking just 2 wouldn't be sufficient enough for him. Last night we went over to a friend's house and he forgot his excedrin. Our friend gave him 4 tylenol pm which helped him out. This morning he came home early from work complaining of really really bad heartburn. Is it because he mixed the excedrin and tylenol, or was it because he exceeded the limit on excedrin? Mind you, he was taking the excedrin for 3 days before he mixed it with the tylenol, and he was having absolutely no problems. Serious answers only. I don't want any guesses. I'm sorry to sound like a B****h, but I want real answers. Thank you.

samakāmitā replied: "No. But actually he should only take Tylenol since Excedrin contains Aspirin and when taken over days with make it harder for your blood to coagulate. This can be a dangerous side effect. He should not take more than two Tylenol every four to six hours."

cluelessblue replied: "I would say no. It would take years of the tylenol and excedrin to cause that type of stomach damage. I would say something else gave him indigestion. And it is O.K. to mix the excedrin and tylenol. Not more then the recomended dose of each. They are two different medications. Sometimes you get better relief if you mix the two."
